Sra. Meredith Baker is from Eugene, Oregon, and lives here with her husband (and her cat, Manny). She enjoys reading, running, and doing yoga, but also indulges in a little reality TV now and then. Sra. Baker graduated from the University of Oregon and from Pacific University in Eugene, where she specialized in Elementary and Early Childhood Education. She started working with children when she was 17 year old, and has always loved Kindergarten. She enjoys teaching kinders because of their enthusiasm for everything and the learning process that happens throughout the year. Sra. Baker also loves being a part of the BV community, and looks forward to her time with this year’s kindergarteners!

I was raised on a farm in Rappahannock County, Virginia, about 60 miles south of Washington DC. I spent a large part of my childhood playing piano, singing, playing sports, and running through the Blue Ridge mountains. After high school, I lived in France for three months, gaining a great appreciation for the beauty of other cultures and peoples. I studied music & French at Radford University and teaching middle school math & science at Old Dominion University. After teaching at public & private schools in Virginia, I moved to Oregon and received my Masters in Special Education from UO in 2008. GO DUCKS! I currently serve three 4J schools in a variety of roles, all involving teaching & supporting emerging learners. I love figuring out how a student learns and designing instruction to best fit that learning style. Through teaching, I learn something new everyday- my favorite perk of the job!! My hobbies include batiking, quilting, songwriting, gardening, and hiking with my Mastiffs in the spectacular Oregon countryside. I love being part of the Buena Vista Family!!!
