In this WebQuest, you will learn how to use the computer in ways that make gathering, organizing and presenting information EASY. You will be using Inspiration software, a "visual" learning tool. After you learn this process for the WebQuest, feel free to use it for other school assignments. It's fun and it works!
| 1 | DECIDE WHICH "VIEW" TO USE |

| 3 | GET READY TO USE TWO PROGRAMS AT ONCE -- INSPIRATION AND NETSCAPE OR EXPLORER |
|
Step
1
|
Decide
which "view" to use.
|
Diagram
View
(a good place to start) OR
Outline
View
(helpful when you are ready to write your paper)
Note:
With Inspiration, you can switch from view to view anytime you want.
Just click
or
to switch.
|
Step
2
|
Make
a "structure" for taking notes.
|
As you read the sources you have selected, take brief notes and use the mind map to keep them organized. See the example below. At Diagram View, highlight the window from which you want to add notes. Place the cursor at the end of the word in that bubble and click on Rapid Fire from the commands. Type your notes and hit return or enter.

|
Step
3
|
Get
ready to use two programs at once: Inspiration and Netscape/Explorer
|
In
Diagram
View,
it works best to use the task bar (PC) or Application Menu (Mac) to flip between
the programs.
In Outline
View,
it works well to split the screen, so you can see both windows at once.
Now, you're all set up to take notes (Look, ma, no paper!!)
