Sites that provide lots of general information about Mountaineering & Climbing:

One of the best ways to get a variety of internet sources about a topic is to use a "Directory": A collection of links grouped by topic and chosen by a real person (not a machine).
One of the best is Google Directory

Try "Recreation > Climbing" on Google Directory to get many different types of links related to climbing & mountaineering.

Instructions for Webliography:

1. Select the topics you want to include. Mr. Shannon has a list.

2. Search the Web.

3. Browse and select the best links among the hits. Use the webpage provided from the CHS library “Classes” page as a starting point.

Library Home Page > CHS Classes > Social Studies – Everest & Mountaineering

4. For each item in the webliography you will need:

o The title of the webpage
o The URL (http://www…..)
o Several sentences explaining what the webpage/website is all about
o A photo, image or graphic of some sort.

You will need to make the title a hotlink. Use the instructions given in class to do this. (Highlight title, Insert>Hyperlink, paste URL)

5. Choose an informative title for the webliography. For example "Annotated Webliography of Mountaineering History ". The title should reflect its content clearly.

6. Write a brief introduction. It should be at the top of the webliography. The introduction is the way that you introduce the webliography to the world wide web, so it’s purpose will be understandable.
