Ms. Rathje's Science 6 class - for the beans! - November, 2000

Mrs. Rathje consults with students each step of the project so that every student is successful.

First students begin by studying the life of the bean seed, then drawing and labeling each part of the seed.

Next students make a computer drawing of the seed, with labels, which will be used as part of their electronic portfolio on their bean project, and will include their findings when they test their hypothesis (what will be the effects of light and water?).

Student check to make sure they have all parts labeled before they save their project on the building server.

Then the actual beans are used to test the hypothesis - water and light in the first packet, only light in the second, and water but no light in the third....hmmmm.......to be continued!

The bean experiment steps are charted, and results noted.

And here they are close up - after water and light - all sprouted!
