Researching human body systems

Mr. Hubbard's 2nd period class, Mar. 12, 2002

When you're trying to get the most current information regarding human body systems and health issues, it's great to be able to tap into the internet.

Here Mr. Rogers (Mr. Hubbard's Student Teacher) checks out a website students located as a possible resource for their report.

Students often help each other out with tips and encouragement as they plan their report strategy.

One nice thing about using wireless laptops is doing your research wherever you're most comfortable - even in the library window seats!

Thanks to a grant, da Vinci received 16 iBook wireless laptops, along with a wireless internet connection called a "COW" - computer on wheels - which makes use very flexible.

It's helpful to have both the Student Teacher and Mr. Hubbard available to answer questions and give encouragment.

We even have the start of a dual-platform computer system, thanks to a community person's donation of this Windows based computer (which Mr. Hubbard just connected to internet).

These students utilize the iMac computers in the library, so nearly every student has their own computer to use. Do we need and want more - oh yes!
