Projects

Projects meet four times weekly (every day except Wednesday) for about fifteen 80 minute sessions. Students are enrolled in Projects throughout the year, choosing their preference from a new palate of offerings with each cycle. Entirely new groups are formed each time to study different subjects with different teachers in different age-group combinations. This results not only in teachers teaching all students, but all teachers teaching all grades. This strengthens the sense of belonging and family at the school and enhances Eastside's ability to create a close sense of community with each child in the school.

We mostly learn science and social studies units during this time, but we also have art and woodshop projects, too. We get to choose what we want to take. Classes usually have two or more grades in them combined.
