Welcome to the Harris Elementary School web site. I am thrilled you are taking the time to visit and hope you find it to be informative. You will see that we have many exciting opportunities to offer the K-fifth grade students attending our school.

Harris Elementary School has an excellent reputation. Our staff prides itself on the students successes and continues to move forward through thoughtful planning, maintenance of effective curriculum, creation of new programs and powerful partnerships with both parents and community members. Academically, students consistently score above the state averages on the Oregon Assessment of Knowledge and Skills (OAKS) test.

Our planning committee is currently working to develop our strategic plan for our current academic year. They are hard at work with data collection and recommendations made by staff to meet measurable goals and objectives for student achievement. This plan is based on our Harris Elementary School Vision Statement.

We believe the partnerships formed between school and family are invaluable in education and provide the foundation for our childrens success. Therefore, our parents and teachers work hard to maintain a partnership through ongoing communication, clear expectations, shared responsibilities, membership and participation in our Site Council and volunteer programs.
