All of the schools in the Eugene School District have a Learning Center. We are one of three Regional Learning Centers in the Churchill area. Regional Learning Centers serve a wide range of students including children who need greater support. Students attend the Learning Center closest to their home. The students in our program include children with autism, learning disabilities, developmental and language disabilities as well as behavioral issues. |
The Learning Center staff is highly trained. It includes two full time certified teachers and several instructional assistants. One unique feature of our program is that the Speech and Language Specialist is housed within our Learning center and works closely with us. An Occupational Therapist is also a part of our team. She comes in once a week providing support and assistance to our children as well as team teaching with the teachers. All of the Learning Center staff work closely together as a team to provide a full range of services.
| Learning Center students are assigned to a homeroom / classroom. Students are mainstreamed at different levels depending on their academic and social needs. Most of our services are provided by pull-out match model, but students may be served totally within the regular classroom as well. We use a variety of curricular materials including text that is found in the regular classroom. |

The staff works hard to make all of our students feel confident and proud of their accomplishments. Most of all we have fun working and learning together.
