Classroom Responsibilities
Homeroom
For management purposes, homeroom is designated as the Morning Core class. All teachers are responsible for monitoring academic, social, emotional progress and maintaining contact with the home. At Kelly, we are committed to focusing on decision making, study skills, organization of time, social skills and values throughout the entire school day.
All teachers have the goal of creating a trusting relationship with each student. Our curriculum emphasizes the specific objectives of helping students become responsible, creative, and productive. We focus on social behavior and interaction with peers, staff, and community members. The activities covered during the year relate to the skills taught, and include both school and community projects.
One of the most important means of creating a positive school climate is
to have the students learn and take responsibility for their part in the
creation of the climate. Establishing and building a positive relationship
with your students improves the school atmosphere. Cooperation is one of
the keys.
