Beginning and Ending Times
The Professional Day (EEA Agreement 10.1.1): “For purposes of fulfilling professional responsibilities associated with teaching, an eight (8) hour workday will be flexible and will be guided by these principles:
1. Unit members recognize that their responsibility to students requires the performance of duties involving the expenditure of time beyond that of the student day and shall be available for students and/or parent consultation, as well as other professional activities and responsibilities.
a. On those occasions when unit members will not be available immediately after the student day, they will notify the building office personnel.
b. It is not the intent of this article to require unit members to work beyond an eight (8) hour day.
2. Unit members will schedule regular times when they will be available and will communicate this to their students and parents in a timely manner.
a. Unit members will make reasonable efforts to adjust their hours in order to be available to students and parents as necessary.
b. Bargaining unit members will provide written notification to the building principal of their established hours of availability.”
The suggested regular eight (8) hour day for Kelly certified staff is 7:45 a.m. to 3:45 p.m.
Master Calendar and Facility Use
The Building Use Coordinator will be responsible for scheduling the use
of the building in the evening and on weekends. A master calendar of outside
use of the building is on the clipboard by the mailboxes. The front office
has the responsibility for maintaining the master schedule of school activities.
When scheduling an activity, a staff member must first consult with the
Principal, and upon approval clear the use of the space with the Building
Use Coordinator (687-3180)
