Student Teachers
During the year, a staff member may be asked to supervise a student teacher from various teacher-training programs.
Student teacher assignments begin at the opening of university terms and end at the beginning of the university examination period. Student teacher assignments and evaluations are coordinated by the principal.
The principal will have a copy of the school district’s guide for working with student teachers. Each teacher supervising a student teacher should become familiar with the requirements for supervision.
Even
though a student teacher is working directly with the students, the final
responsibility for the program and operation of a class remains with the
regular teacher.
