504 Plans and T.A.G. Program

504 PLANS

Copies of 504 plans will be kept:
1. Copy to Connie for cum folder, and identification on computer lists.
2. Copy in team folder/notebook that team leader keeps.

 

T.A.G. PROGRAM (Talented and Gifted)

A. Identification Process

1. Invitation to apply for identification

a. newsletter in September and February
b. Team agenda item in September; remember minorities (check with ELL teacher)

2. Counselor does testing/evaluation - criteria:

a. intellectual/mental ability - 97% by either
b. academic ability - 97% in math or reading test, or
c. assessed to have potential to demonstrate ability at 97% by either
      1) standard error of measurement
      2) teacher/team assessment, or
d. other methods of assessment as determined by teacher/team/counselor

B. Provision of Specific Academic Program

1. Need to make reasonable efforts to address

a. instructional level
b. rate of learning

2. Areas may include: math, science, language arts, social studies, art, p.e., music

3. Student TAG Personalized Education Plan form

a. Counselor fills out basic TAG information on PEP form in September
b. Counselor does orientation at staff meeting in September
c. Team leaders take PEPs to team meetings in October to fill out (due Nov.)

C. Parent Opportunity for Input/Discussion

1. TAG parents invited to group meeting in November to review/discuss student PEP

2. TAG parents invited to provide support for students interested in Lane Project Fair (meeting in March - Fair in May)
