KENNEDY MIDDLE SCHOOL

We have P.R.I.D.E. at our school!

Music

Kennedy has a fun and exciting music program that includes three levels of band, an after school jazz band, and two levels of orchestra. (Orchestra students meet before school.) Students choose an instrument, learn how to read music, develop discipline and self confidence, experience many styles of music and learn history and theory. Students also have a great time sharing music with their friends and performing for their families and the community throughout the year.

Free after school lessons on Wednesdays!

We have hired some excellent high school musicians to teach music lessons after school on Wednesdays. So far we have a fabulous percussionist, trombone, baritone and trumpet teachers. Annalisa and Char are available to teach the woodwinds and tuba. Please take advantage of these free lessons!

After school band practice this year will be on Mondays and Wednesdays, from 3:30 to 4:00 p.m.

If you are renting a school instrument, please return the rental agreement and the maintenance fee of $50.00. This helps off-set the cost of repair and upkeep on our instruments.

If your student needs a scholarship for instrument rental or to purchase a book, please contact Ms. Sloan in the main office.

The school sells reeds, valve oil and books. These supplies need to be paid for at the time of purchase.

Private lessons are the best way to excel and stay motivated in music. See Ms. Decker or Ms. Morton for a list of private teachers.

Click the links below to get information about that program. You can also print these forms, fill them out and turn them into the office if you are interested in signing up for one or more of these great programs.

For more information or if you have any questions about these wonderful opportunities, please email Charlene Decker (at decker@4j.lane.edu) or Annalisa Morton (at morton@4j.lane.edu) or call 790-5500 to leave a message for either of them.
