Introduction
Night School, 4J’s longest running alternative education program, offers a supplementary instruction program for high school-eligible students seeking to recover credits toward a regular high school diploma. The program offers courses in Language Arts, Health, Science, U.S. History, Global Studies, Government, Economics, and Math (General Math and Pre-Algebra). Students may carry a maximum load of four academic subjects each term. All classes carry regular high school credit of 5.0 per semester.

Night School instructors are committed to working with students on issues of self-esteem and personal responsibility. Instructors strive to provide a supportive environment for students dealing with academic, behavior, chemical dependency, and social issues.

Night School is designed to supplement, not replace, academic classes available in day school. To be eligible for the Night School program, a student must be enrolled in one of the district’s high schools, be credit-deficient or potentially academically ineligible to graduate, and be referred by a high school counselor.

Night School classes and office (687-3114) are located in the International High School wing at South Eugene High School, 400 East 19th Avenue.
