Strings Program Comes to Spring Creek!

September 1, 2009

Ever wanted to learn to play an instrument?  Here is your chance!  Students in grades 4 and 5 may learn to play stringed instruments such as violins in our new after-school “Strings” program.

Through a partnership between Eugene School District 4J and the Arts Umbrella of Lane County we will be offering a free, beginning strings program at Awbrey Park.   All 4th and 5th grade students from Awbrey Park and Spring Creek are eligible for this program. .  Transportation will be  provided to Awbrey Park and parents must arrange to pick up their student after class at Awbrey Park.  Students will need to provide their own instrument or rent one from the Strings program for $50.00.

Students interested in participating need to have strong and consistent attendance as well as exemplary behavior. There are still some details that need to be finalized by Arts Umbrella but we wanted to inform families of this wonderful opportunity.
