1996 CHALE Award Recipients
Juan Carlos Mora Flores
Grade: 5 School: Whiteaker Elementary School
Nominated by: Becky Casado (teacher) and Megan Bassett (teacher)
Juan Carlos is a hard working and dedicated student. He has served
as a role-model for all students at Whiteaker. He completes his
assignments in all academic areas with 100% effort. Juan Carlos is
also a fair and caring classmate to others. Carlos has a friendly
personality and is fun to be around. He has developed many strong
friendships while at Whiteaker.
Carlos has made tremendous progress in reading, spelling, social
studies, and science since he came to Whiteaker. He is at the top of
his class in the area of mathematics. He learns concepts quickly and
thoroughly and is often working ahead of the rest of his class.
Carlos arrives every day on time with his homework completed and
assignment sheet signed by his parents. Carlos has earned the honor
of becoming a Whiteaker RIB (Responsible Intermediate Button) student
where he receives special privleges and participates in special
activites developed for School Leaders.
Carlos is an excellent athlete. He enjoys soccer and basketball and
is showing tremendous skills in both sports. Carlos is also a leader
in his family. He takes responsibility for his younger sisters and
brother and makes sure they arrive and leave school safely each day.
