Ted Nussbaum

I teach and learn with my first and second graders at Whiteaker Community School I get excited about teaching students to read. My students and I enjoy learning both in English and Spanish. It is fun to see kids and myself learn how to be better people by learning from experiences and mistakes even though this is difficult at times. I enjoy applying what I learned during my "Humor in the Classroom" studies for my Master's of Arts degree I earned at the University of Oregon. I taught at Springfield Middle School for two years and now am in my eighth year of teaching at Whiteaker.

My other interests include biking, camping, carpentry, art, music, guitar, playing and working and learning with my family, and teaching Sunday School.

I am a father of two, an 8 year old son and a 6 year daughter. My wife, Kathy, directs the Courageous Kids program, through Sacred Heart Hospice, that teaches kids how to deal with living through a death in the family.
